Most back pain comes from pinched nerves in the spine. Pinched nerves are the result of misalignments of the spinal bones that occur from physical injuries, repetitive motions or compromising positions. Events such as falls, car accidents or sports injuries are just a few examples of how spinal misalignments/pinched nerves happen. In many cases it’s a series of small injuries over a period of time that eventually leads to debilitating pain requiring treatment. Whether it happens suddenly or over a length of time, spinal misalignments cause the disc to change its shape, bulging the material into sensitive nerve tissue causing back or neck pain, numbness, weakness and/or malfunction in other parts of the body. The treatment for spinal misalignments and disc problems is chiropractic care. The procedure (called an ‘adjustment’) is painless and is a physical alignment of one of the spinal bones performed ‘by hand’ of the chiropractor. At Solutions Integrated Medicine, we practice a specific type of chiropractic called Gonstead. Gonstead chiropractic is an extremely effective system for removing pinched nerves in the spine and restoring the body back to normal function for patients of all ages.
