If you’re going to spend money outfitting your car with new tires, it makes sense to spend a few more dollars getting them aligned and balanced at the same time. Even though these procedures cost extra, they are important details you don’t want to miss. Without good alignment or the right balance, the new tires are almost guaranteed to wear out faster. It seems few in their right mind would do this, yet we meet numerous patients willing to spend good money for regenerative medicine, but think they’re saving costs by skimping on the ‘extras’ – like orthotics, rehab or nutritional supplements.
Their first mistake is considering these important adjuncts as ‘extras’. At Solutions, the adjuncts we recommend ALL have very specific purposes – designed to either enhance the results and make them more permanent. For example, if a knee joint is twisted out of alignment, it must be realigned to get the most out of a regenerative medicine injection; this is why we recommend chiropractic care. Also, if there are pinched nerves in the lumbar spine or structural problems from the pelvis being out of alignment, changes we hope to see in a recovering knee joint may be slower or incomplete until these issues are handled.
In most cases, it takes years for degenerative joint damage to accumulate. Meanwhile the skeletal structure and supportive soft tissues that hold everything together have also slowly changed to compensate for the deteriorated joint. Whether the treatment is hyaluronic acid (GenVisc/SynVisc) or regenerative medicine, if we want the results to last, these postural and soft tissue components that have compensated must also be addressed. The other procedures we recommend like rehab, orthotics and trigger point injections are designed to help re-balance the posture and musculature of the body to make it easier for the joint we’re trying to change to do so.
At Solutions, the programs we offer are well thought out, individualized plans designed to make the most broad-sweeping changes in the shortest period of time. This is so our patients not only feel better quickly but get results that last. This is a top priority for us and everything we recommend is important for achieving the best outcome possible.
