Many adults complain no matter how they eat or how much sleep they get, they still feel drained and fatigued during the day. Fatigue affects both the body and mind and contributes to depression. Medically, it’s a difficult problem to diagnose and treat because there are so many causes, many of which can be cured with some simple advice from your provider. However there are many more cases that’s tried all the advice and everything under the sun, and yet still suffer with constant fatigue. If you’re relying on too much caffeine during the day and nothing you’ve tried so far has changed your energy levels, a great place to start is a simple blood test. There are numerous clues blood work can give your doctors so they can easily help you make a difference in this problem.

At Solutions, we offer our patients a system of natural hormone replacement called Biote®. If you suffer with fatigue, looking at your hormones is a great place to start, as fatigue is an extremely common symptom for imbalances here. When patients undergo hormone optimization with Biote®, the first step is blood work, to analyze levels of hormones and certain nutrients.

It is interesting to note that many/most of the patients we do blood tests prior to Biote® show a similar profile of hormone and nutrient level imbalances; most of which are also significant findings for causation of fatigue. These include below normal ranges of Vitamin D, thyroid hormones, testosterone and sometimes estrogen/FSH.

Perhaps this is one reason why after a few weeks of starting Biote®, many patients report new energy and clearer mental focus. The Biote® system consists of natural, bio-identical hormones tailored to the individual's needs. Prior blood work dictates how much hormone and/or nutritional supplementation to recommend for the patient to bring levels back to optimum range. It takes a few weeks for hormone/nutrient levels to raise but once they do, this is most likely the cause for the improved energy levels many patients experience.

If you suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome or just wished you had more energy, come to Solutions for a simple blood test to find out! We will evaluate these key elements and can make helpful recommendations about how to handle any deficiencies and what can be done for your energy level.
