Many patients neglect their nutrition and this can have a huge impact on how much better they get from regenerative therapy. Regenerative medicine stimulates the body to repair and replace damaged tissue with new healthy cells. The food you eat while you’re undergoing treatment is what provides the building blocks your body uses to make the new tissue. If the only fuel you put in your machine is junk that's laden with fat, salt and sugar, you're missing the bus. If you’re considering regenerative medicine (or currently under therapy), keep reading this post for some important tips on what foods to eat and what to stay away from to get the most out of your program.

While there are numerous healthy eating tips that can help maximize your results with regenerative medicine; here are the top 2 most important and the best place to start...

1. Stop Eating Sugar
High blood sugar levels cause narrowing of the blood vessels, effectively slowing down healing. Sugar also increases inflammation, which (chronically) contributes to joint degeneration. Regenerative medicine is trying to encourage healing, not slow it down. Sugar in your diet will counteract the effects of regenerative medicine.

If you want your regenerative medicine to work better, take out sugar from your diet completely and immediately. If you’re getting regenerative medicine, remove all soda, juices, cereal (other than shredded wheat or oatmeal), all processed foods (candy, baked goods), anything with sugar and limit dairy (none except for creamers). Replace the missing calories/carbs with colorful vegetables (but 80% green) and liquids with only filtered water and a little coffee.

 2. Eat More Peptides
Peptides are certain proteins involved in the production of collagen. This is the material that makes the connective tissue joint pain sufferers are missing. Since regenerative medicine stimulates the body to produce new tissue, it makes sense to increase the number of building blocks during therapy. Peptides also help reduce inflammation, improve immune function, and prevent the formation of blood clots.

Eating more peptides in your diet will encourage regenerative medicine to work better. These are foods that contain peptides and ones you should be eating daily when you’re undergoing any regenerative therapy
