Stem Cell Rejection?

When we use amniotic tissue allografts for treatment of joint pain, degenerative joints or other conditions, we are essentially performing a type of live cell transplant. This is similar to organ transplants and/or blood transfusions in the way that they are live cells being transplanted. However unlike organ and blood donation, there is no chance of rejection with amniotic or umbilical cord sourced cells. This is because of their source. While there are several sources of human cellular tissue useful for treatment of the body, at Solutions Integrated Medicine, we use either PRP (platelet rich plasma) or tissues extracted from placentas and/or umbilical cords that have been donated. PRP is taken from the patient’s own blood and then re-injected into their body, so since it comes the patient’s own body, there is no chance of rejection. Other sources of human cellular tissue we use in regenerative medicine come from the amniotic layer of the placenta and also the protective outer layer of the umbilical cord. These tissues do not have immune cells and are considered ‘immune neutral’, so there is no chance of rejection. We use a company called ‘Predictive Biotech’ who harvests live cells from placental and umbilical tissue that have been donated from mothers who have live healthy births. Predictive Biotech processes the live cells under strict standards and regulations set forth by the American Association of Tissue Banks and have never had one case of rejection. Human cellular tissue products from this company have been FDA cleared for the use of joint regenerative therapy.
