The Gonstead Method

One of the reasons we have such a high success rate with back pain, neck pain and bulged/herniated disc problems is because our doctors practice a specific method of chiropractic called Gonstead. While there are many styles of chiropractic, the Gonstead Method is one of the most precise. It’s one of the few techniques that has a protocol and system for determining where, how and when to adjust the patient. Gonstead is unique in not only the analysis and diagnosis of the patient but also with the specific maneuvers involved with the adjustments. Gonstead is a full spine method, used to treat pinched nerves from the very top vertebrae in the neck to the lowest bone in the spinal column (the Sacrum) and including the SI joints/pelvis. The Gonstead technique also includes very effective extremity adjustments for patients with alignment problems in the feet, ankles, knees, shoulders, elbows, wrists and even the TMJ.

The Gonstead system is great for patients of all ages, sizes and numerous conditions. For example, this method is excellent for pregnant mothers (and recommended all the way up to delivery). It’s also safe for patients who are elderly, very frail or have weak, osteoporotic bones. Because Gonstead is such a complete system, it allows us to handle very complicated cases, including severely herniated discs, compression fractures, post-back/neck surgery cases and many conditions other doctors won’t even touch. Compared to other chiropractic methods, Gonstead takes years of study and practice to become proficient. At Solutions Integrated Medicine, our doctors of chiropractic have over 55 years of combined experience in the Gonstead Method.
