The Nerv-o-scope

Nervoscope

Most patients will agree - the chiropractic we offer at Solutions is extremely effective. One of the reasons for this is because we are very selective about where and when we adjust the spine. The Nerv-o-scope is an instrument we use to help determine this. The nerv-o-scope is a hand-held, thermographic instrument that measures heat given off from the skin directly over the spine. Spinal misalignments, subluxations and pinched nerves all include/cause inflammation. Run along the entire spinal column, the Nerv-o-scope finds abnormal heat readings to help pin point the inflammed areas. This helps direct the chiropractor’s palpation exam to hone in on exactly the right vertebrae to adjust.

The Nerv-o-scope is an important part of diagnosing and correcting all the spinal problems we treat at Solutions. It’s one of the main reasons we ask all female patients to wear gowns and men to remove their shirts. The Nerv-o-scope doesn’t work as well if the patient is too hot. This is why it’s also important for the patient to remain in the feeder rooms for at least 10 minutes (to allow skin temperature to accommodate to the room temperature). The Nerv-o-scope is also used to help monitor progress while a patient is undergoing corrective chiropractic care. As alignment improves, inflammation goes down and instrument readings become harder to find. Despite how helpful this instrument is, few chiropractors use them. At Solutions, the Nerv-o-scope is a huge part of our success and an important part of delivering the best quality care possible to our patients.
