A trigger point is defined as a hyperirritable spot within the musculature, usually found in the back muscles. They are a palpable nodule in the taut bands of the skeletal muscles' fascia. When pressed, the nodules are often tender and can also cause referred pain (pain in a different location). These problems occur because of imbalances in the body’s structure or muscular system that occur from either pinched nerves in the spine and/or repetitive motions. Trigger points that become chronic (longstanding) develop adhesions and scar tissue that can compound spinal problems and contribute to further imbalances and pain syndromes.

At Solutions, we offer Trigger Point Injections for the treatment of this condition and have great success. We use a combination of natural anti-inflammatories, pain relievers and muscle relaxants to help reduce spasms, break down scar tissue and relieve pain. Trigger point injections are extremely helpful when undergoing chiropractic care, both in aiding the alignment process and helping you keep in alignment longer.
